Barry Nelson reported on WSC'97. The participation of the Ph.D. Student Colloquium in the poster session was a success, and is a practice that should be continued. The Ph.D. Student Colloquium had approximately 50 people in attendance. Barry Nelson introduced Viatcheslav B. Melas from St. Petersburg State University, who described the Workshop on Simulation and Applied Statistics to be held 28 June through 3 July 1998. Mani Manivannan reported on WSC'98, which is to be held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington D.C., 13 through 16 December 1998. The theme will be "Simulation in the 21st Century." Various proposals have been made to publish more conference-related material on CD-ROM, and less in printed form. Some of these proposals were described and a lengthy discussion ensued. The WSC web site, www.wintersim.org, will contain updates on this issue, which was unresolved at the end of the discussion.

Old Business
Jeff Tew announced that dues have been raised to $7.50 for non-members, $6.00 for members, and $2.00 for students and retired members as per the vote of the attendees of the Spring'97 Business Meeting in San Diego. Russell Barton reported on the ad hoc committee on matters related to the College's World Wide Web page. The committee has a full report in the Fall '97 Newsletter. In brief, the committee recommends that the college appoint a Web Page Editor, as well as a Newsletter Editor. A discussion of the web page editor position took place. Will this be a volunteer effort, or a paid position? We don't pay anyone else to perform his or her college duties, so this one should also be voluntary. A motion was passed to split the monetary issue from the by-law changes included in the Fall '97 Newsletter report from the ad hoc committee on matters related to the college's web page. A motion was passed to accept the ad hoc committee's by-law changes. A motion was passed to allow the Web Page Editor established by the by-law changes to pay up to $150/month for expenses to maintain the web page. However, these funds cannot be used to pay for the Web Page Editor's services.

New Business
Mike Taaffe called for a show of hands to indicate approval for holding Sunday sessions at future INFORMS meetings. The results were approximately 50% for and 50% against. Jeff Tew called for nominations for college officers. A ballot will be included in the Spring '98 Newsletter. Sheldon Jacobson reported on the initiative to create corporate sponsorship of college activities. There was a short discussion of this issue. It will be put on the agenda for the Spring '98 meeting in Montreal. The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 PM.
