An incubator fund for the Simulation Archive Endowment was established in December 2007 by Robert G. Sargent with a donation of $5000. As part of establishing this incubator fund, the Friends of the NCSU Libraries gave $500. For the incubator fund to become a regular endowment fund, a minimum of $15,000 is needed.

Currently the incubator fund contains $8,600. Since the incubator fund was established, the Department of Information Systems and Computing of Brunel University has given $1,500 and a total of $1,600 has been given by Jim and Mary Wilson, Steve Roberts, and Julian and Frieda Reitman.
